Mapping Downtown

Downtown Interactive Map Yesterday Cartifact and the Downtown Center BID launched a new interactive map of Downtown L.A. that brings together Cartifact's beautiful maps and the BID's data about Downtown development.

You can search for buildings by name, by address or find residential buildings by type and status. You can even query by pet friendly buildings or live/work lofts.

I think the app's pretty cool, but then again I would think that. I started at Cartifact back at the beginning of the year and I've put a lot of time into this thing over the past month and a half.

You can feel free to leave feedback on the app here. I can't promise to do anything about it, but I do like to see users happy.

Interesting and innovative way of presenting spatial data. I have just completed a survey of over 800 buildings on the Gold Coast (Queensland, Australia). It would be good to see if your approach works with the data we have collated here using GIS (Geographic Information Systems)..

It is fantastic!

Where can I buy an current poster sized cartifact map?

I called Cartifact about a year ago and they referred

me to the library? Do you think that they'll have

this updated version yet? Thanks

Danny: The last map printing was in September, so that's still reasonably current. If you call Cartifact again you should be able to get one. I suspect it would just be straight from us, but I don't know for sure.

I think this interactive map of Downtown Los Angeles is great, after I found it on the California SkyscraperPage Forum. As a former LA resident for over 20 years, now living in N CA (planning to return), I find this site very informative to track all the development. I am amazed of the amount of projects that are occurring citywide since I left, and this map helps to keep abreast of them.

Great graphics and info on various buildings.
