The March Goes Marching

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — The Downtown march took a different tact just now, as a few thousand people marched down 7th Street, headed toward the mid-city gathering. It was pretty sketchy at the front, with at least one flag-draped car darting into the oncoming lanes to get around some marchers and marchers standing in the middle of the 7th/Flower intersection to block traffic.
One LAPD unit drove through, looking like he just wanted to get to the front. Straggling along in the back of the group were a half dozen or so LAPD officers on bikes.
Reports from the main march have made a point to mention that there were far more American flags than any other. Not so for this group. Definitely more Mexican flags than US ones.
I took some photos as the march passed below, and you can find them in this flickr set.
