A Moment to Say Thank You

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Last week at the closing reception of the L.A. Souls photography show Ed Fuentes of View from a Loft presented me with this certificate. On Thursday he posted about that on his site and included some funny stories about our paths crossing Downtown.
Blogdowntown and I cross paths often, sometimes by a few moments. I was also at 7th and Fig one afternoon when the shutdown happened. Unfortunately for me, I was shooting slide film so I have no photos. Other places we have been crossing during my few days on a blogging break was at the sidewalk screenplay and the building wrapped up in a bad case of ugly. I do have photos of those subjects, but that of course Eric already covered it.
So how does one give a competitive shout out to the way he covers downtown? Trip him on his way to a posting? Steal his camera? Hack his website? Nah. Arrange a certificate from the City of LA, courtesy of Jan Perry (and her staff) who didn’t even blink at the request to commend blogdowntown.
I appreciate the kind words and the certificate, Ed. I know I have a lot of fun running this site and it’s always good to know that others out there are enjoying it as well.

Congrats on the acknowledgement from the city. I work in downtown L.A. and check out your site for the latest happenings around here. Great Job!
So whats’s the deal? You post a picture of the Certificate of recognition you got from Jan Perry from Ed Fuentes , but you didn’t post the picture of the one I asked for you from Jan Perry at the Ambassador of goodwill awards.
Anyway , congrats on this certificate. But I will get you a resolution. To show Ed up. LOL just kidding. MAybe?
Congratulations blogdowntown!
While some ‘bloggers’ have likely been recognized in the past, I think this may be the first (hopefully of many) City testimonials directly to a blog, which underscores the power of blogs when someone devotes their use to the common good of our City.
Again, congratulations!
Respectfully Yours in Safety and Service,
