DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — New York-based Afro-Latin group Mango Blue opened up the lunchtime track of Grand Performances yesterday. The noon hour saw the lower bowl of the Watercourt nicely filled. It appeared that several school groups had made the trip, and one group of youngsters was thoroughly soaked after playing in the Watercourt fountain.
If you work somewhere in the vicinity of Bunker Hill, these Friday lunch sets really are a cool deal to go check out. Grab a sandwich from Mendocino Farms and sit down to enjoy some talented artists out in the LA sun.
You can view a small photo set from the evening here. Mid-way through the set I had to head off to fly up to SF, but Dave and Ed will be posting write-ups on the rest of the weekend’s events.
