Pastagina a Hit

By Ed Fuentes

With a patented process to steam pasta, and a good selection of sauces to choose from, Pastagina was a hit with downtown bloggers last night. We may have mixed up the counter people by ordering in between jokes, that frankly didn't end until we had gelato, courtesy of owner Jong Kim.

Pastagina will be opening a few more stores Downtown, so keep an eye out for them. And Kim has reported that there has been a busy lunch crowd for the first week of his Little Tokyo branch, so congratulations to him.

Around the table, we caught up and heard some stories about downtown from those who lived here for years, then we had a quick toast to Jim who has been blogging since 2000, about Downtown since 2003.

I can only imagine the jokes bandied about might have included the name of the place. Specifically about the last two syllables being one letter away from spelling out...

Sorry Alex and I were late. The gelato was yummy, and the pasta hit the spot!

Will, your speculation is dead on. It went on all night.
