DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — An expansion of the free civic WIFI at Pershing Square is only a couple months away according to the CRA’s Curt Gibbs. Gibbs made a presentation yesterday to the Historic Downtown BID, and said that the money’s approved, the hardware’s already been bought and all that’s left is to get the new radios up on the poles. There’s a chance that could be done by the end of the year.
This expansion, proposed back in January would add 13 new radios to the two already in place at Pershing Square. Additional coverage would be added to parts of the Historic Core, Financial District and parts of Bunker Hill. Exactly where that means you’ll be able to sit and do your roving reading of blogdowntown has yet to be determined.

does this mean that all of us at the delano (wont call in milano) lofts can cancel our internet?
I can pick up the “Little Tokyo Unplugged” district wifi from my place at Mozaic, but I can’t connect to it – even when I’m in Little Tokyo. What gives?
Guess I need to buy a laptop, I work at the One Wilshire can I come over to the Delano? :)
