Sunday: Fiesta Broadway Brings Music and Street Closures
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — On Sunday, April 27th, Fiesta Broadway will bring music, crowds and a healthy dose of commercialism to Broadway. The annual event claims to draw 500,000 people and markets itself as the “largest Latino event in the nation’s largest Latino market.”
For those who live Downtown, what’s more important than the concert line-up is the schedule for street closures. The festival will be closing off three north-south streets and ten that travel east west.
Closures start on Friday at 7pm, as Broadway is closed between Temple and First for one of the TV stage to be erected.
The bulk of closures run from 7pm on Saturday, and remain until 5am on Monday.
North-south closures:
- Broadway closed from Temple to Eleventh Street.
- Hill Street closed from Sixth to Olympic Street.
- Main Street closed from Ninth to Eleventh Street.
East-west closures:
- First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, & Sixth Streets closed between Spring and Hill Street.
- Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, & Olympic Streets closed from Main to Olive Street.
The event itself runs from 11am to 6pm on Sunday.
Comments
i noticed a sign posted that is closing at least part of our block of los angeles st. for most of the weekend. i wonder if it’s related to fiesta broadway, or just a special gift from our friends at filmla.
Great Day to visit the LA Times Book Fair at UCLA!
A great day to check out Fiesta Broadway too!
Does anyone know where they are directing people to park? I checked out the website, and nothing is shown under “map/directions” or “travel info”. The only thing I could find is the vendor only parking on Olympic x Olive..
Only reason I’m concerned is that we have friends driving in from arizona this weekend, and since OBD parking is still under construction and not allowing visitor parking, our choices are somewhat limited.
