DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Guy Zimmerman and LADAD Space’s Tim Keating approached each other to discuss mounting a night of theater that would reflect the Downtown L.A.’s arts community tradition––disciplines influencing each other.
The outcome is A Thousand Words, a 90-minute set of nine short plays that came from pairings of nine playwrights, nine visual artists and nine directors. Zimmerman calls it “artistic cross-pollination.”
blogdowntown took a peek at the tech run through. Happening without lighting and sets, it gave a different edge to a raw space and new words.
Previews take place June 6th, 7th and 8th. The show opens Friday, June 13th, and continues through June 29th. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 7pm. General admission tickets are $20, with preview tickets only $15.
