The Downtown L.A. Neighborhood Council hasn’t received the official certification for its new board yet, but that isn’t stopping the group from holding a town hall meeting on Tuesday night that’s filled with info on big projects and ideas for Downtown.

The event, grandly titled “Re-imagining Downtown:
Creating a Master Plan for the Civic Center and its Neighbors,” kicks off at 6:45pm at the Los Angeles Theatre (615 S. Broadway) and features presentations on five Downtown projects.

Bill Witte of Related Companies will be on hand to give updates on the Grand Avenue Project, now dubbed The Grand, and the Civic Center Park. The park project just received good news from the state, where $26 million in additional funding was recently approved to be added to the $56 million already on hand.

Representatives from EDAW will be on hand to present Park 101, the freeway cap concept recently unveiled by a team of interns from the company.

Additionally, updates will be given on the LAPD headquarters and motorpool construction and the Vista Hermosa park, located just west of the 110 on 1st street and slated to open shortly.
