DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Living Downtown amongst the constant barrage of sirens, traffic and construction can sometimes be overwhelming, almost to the point where you have to get away. Thankfully there are finally more chances closer to home to take a little break that you used to have to travel to the Westside to indulge in. One of those places is a relaxing charity event being held Downtown this Sunday called Pamper Me Fabulous.

The one day beauty, spa, cocktail and sweets extravaganza is being held from 11 to 5 on August 17 at the posh Ford Brady loft located inside the historical Kim Sing Theatre and many of the services represent fabulous Downtown businesses. Not only is there catering by the Ciudad, Neihule will be offering hair cuts. Seeing that I just had Atouzo from Neihule cut my hair and I can't stop raving about the style, I highly recommend checking it out if only for that reason.

For the past several months, I've been working non-stop and the fact I can walk here with my girlfriends on my only day off is very exciting to me. The $165 general price tag may be steep but organizers wanted to keep the event intimate and still be able to raise a lot of money for the Step Up Women's network. One thing I've been noticing lately is that many people are recognizing how special Downtown can be for these types of events. Normally they're held at a nice boutique hotel or large venue and they're mostly on the Westside, not a large scale loft at a historical theatre in the heart of Downtown LA.
