DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — It's Monday, November 24, and the week's a short one thanks to the Thanksgiving holiday. It's a light schedule for Downtown issues, but there are still a few items making their way through the process that deserve a note.
MONDAY: Budget & Finance committee is holding a meeting at 1pm. After considering closed session items related to lawsuits, the committee will turn its attention to the city's fiscal state and the Mayor's call for departments to cut their budgets.
TUESDAY: Council's in session. Item 8 is CF 07-0332, the Grand Avenue community taxing district that would capture hotel and parking taxes generated by the project.
Planning and Land Use Management's 2pm meeting is heavy on items dealing with billboards and the city's codes for signage.
WEDNESDAY: At Information Technology and General Services committee, the first item is CF 07-3495. The motion concerns 527 S. Crocker, a city-owned building that has been leased to LAMP Community for 22 years. LAMP is attempting to secure funds to renovate and upgrade the building, and has indicated that the process would be easier if it owned or had a long-term lease on the building.
