Far From Downtown

Snowy Day in MI Eric Richardson [Flickr]

A freshly fallen leaf stands upright in the snow.

A cold greeting to those of you still in Downtown for the holidays. Kathy and I are in Michigan visiting family, remembering just how cold this part of the country can get.

The high today was around 25 degrees, and perhaps four to six inches of new snow fell on top of the roughly two feet already on the ground. I had to scrape the car off a half dozen times over the course of the day.

While I'm on the road, Ed's ably picking up the slack covering the news on the ground in Downtown. Pamela Rouse is taking the lead on Headlines, and has been keeping them more up-to-date than I ever had in the past. I'll be posting a variety of year-end catch-up items and blogdowntown-related content over the next week.

Hi Eric, as a former Angeleno who had to move to Michigan (Ann Arbor) for Grad School, I can share your pain. I can't wait to move back, and pass the time till then by reading your blog daily. Happy holidays.
