With a retirement date set for March 31, LAPD Deputy Chief Sergio Diaz is making some final rounds around the city he's served for 33 years.

A loud but peaceful crowd gathered in the Historic Core this afternoon to protest cuts in education funding. After assembling on Hill street between 4th and 5th, the group took a short march to the Ronald Reagan state office building on Spring street, where a rally was held.
