DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — The council’s Transportation committee today endorsed the proposed pilot program extending Red Line service until 3am during the holiday season. The service, which would cost roughly $90,000, would provide for 2-car trains running 20 minute headways between 1 and 3am. Approximately $50,000 has been committed by private businesses so far. The city and Metro must act very quickly in order to have the service operational by November.

Wonderful, glad to see our leaders finally paying more attention to public transit instead of auto transit. Hopefully the extended hours will be such a success that future years will call for even more extended hours.
